All About The Girls Behind BS

About A Week's Worth of BS

Hey y'all we are Brittani and Stephanie, and thanks for stopping by A Week's Worth of BS.
So around August 2015 I (Stephanie) really started to think about writing a blog. It was a pipe dream and I knew I couldn't ever do it on my own. So I called up my uber talented sister Brittani (some people may call her my sister in law, seeing as she is my brother's wife, but I claim her as my own). Ever since I was little I remember wanting a sister. Finally my dream came true when my brothers got married.  I got the sisters I always wanted.

Anyways back to Brittani, (she is my baby brother's wife) and is so talented and smart so I asked if she would want to start a blog with me. Being the awesome person she is, she said yes! Fast-forward and here we are. We hope to create a blog where we can share our creativity through crafting, home decor, DIY projects, recipes, activities and adventures with our family, and when things aren't going our way, we can share a few comical challenges and interesting moments with you. We are just two sisters trying to stay sane as we make our way through this amazing thing called motherhood.

About Stephanie

A few things you might want to know about me is I studied fine arts with a focus on photography at Utah Valley University, and after almost 3 semesters I decided it wasn't for me (I love photography, but I realized I loved it as a hobby not something I would want to do full time), so I switched my major to nursing, where I eventually wanted to become a certified nurse midwife. But life had other plans. We (the hubby and I) ended up moving back to our home state of Georgia. He went off to work to provide for our family and I do my best to hold down the fort. I  have been married to my hubby Mark for 7 amazing years and together we have two pretty spectacular kids, Eldon (6) and Gracie (4).

My goal for this blog is to be able to share what motivates and inspires me. I am always wanting to try new things and I try to break things down and think, if someone else can figure out how to do or make something then I'm 90% sure I can to. I love trying to figure out the puzzle. I hope to inspire other women to do and try new things.

I believe that families are the the fundamental building blocks of society. I believe that as women and mothers we have a great opportunity to help build our families up. As mothers we can help provide the structure to our families so that we can develop who we are, where we have been, and where we are heading. Families give us a purpose and a direction. The world we live in now is filled with people who may feel hopeless, overwhelmed, or maybe even lost because they are missing the anchor that is a strong family.  I feel so grateful for the opportunity to be a mother, to be able to be an anchor for my family. I know that being a wife and mother in today's world is very difficult. There are many challenges we will encounter.

With this blog I hope to share a bit of my life as mother with y'all. I am not perfect and my house is very far from perfect, ( trust me if you stop by unannounced you will most likely find toys on the floor, dishes in the sink and me still in my PJs). I want to keep things real and hope you will enjoy this glimpse into our lives.

About Brittani

I am a mother of two little cuties, Tate (9 months) and Rylie (2) and wife of four years to my wonderful hubby. They are my entire world. I remember thinking that I knew the meaning of happiness before starting my family. It wasn't until marrying my High School sweetheart, holding my babies for the first time, watching them laugh and play together, and doing the small and simple things together with my family that I really and truly understood pure joy and happiness. Being a mother is the best! That doesn't mean that it is easy... by any means!! My purpose in writing this blog is to help make life easier for you other moms out there. We need each other! I am nowhere near the "perfect mom" but I have found some great things that have made my life easier that I would like to share.

I graduated from BYU with a degree in Exercise and Wellness and I am a certified Personal Trainer and Exercise Physiologist. I love to travel and immerse myself in other cultures (having kids makes it a little more difficult- but not impossible!!). We just moved to Texas a few months ago, but we feel like we have been here for years. The people here are so great! I am super social so it has been so awesome to meet so many friends. The kids and I spend our days crafting, going on little excursions, playing with friends, traveling, and just kicking it at home with our Golden Retriever, Bentley. Life is great! Sure, some days are more difficult than others but in the words Graham Colton, "these are the best days!!"
